Trust Fund Bursary

Students enrolled in post-secondary (beyond Grade 12) education programs are eligible to apply for a $350.00 Trust Fund Bursary, If the meet all the following criteria:

• KFN Band Membership
• Proof of Registration in the current semester
• The program must be delivered by a post-secondary college or university
• Completion of the program must lead to a certificate ( including Journeyperson Certification), a diploma or a degree; and
• They submit a letter to the band requesting the bursary

* Bursaries are only given for the current semester and are not given for previous semesters of study.

Post Secondary School Scholarship Program

KFN Members who are attending post secondary schooling are eligible to receive funding for the 2025 – 2026 academic year
Applications are now available to the Post-Secondary Student Scholarship Program (PSSSP) for the 2025 Fall Semester and for the 2026 Winter Semester.

Eligibility is as follows from the PSSSP 2025-2026 policy:

• Must be enrolled in a qualified institution for September 2025 and/or January 2026 and provide proof of registration.
• Must be a member Kátł'odeeche First Nation (KFN) and provide proof of Status Indian under the Indian Act (Indian Status Card).
• Must be ineligible for University and College Entrance Preparation Program (UCEPP), Student Financial Assistance (SFA) or any other Government of Northwest-Territories (GNWT) student program and provide proof of details (a denial letter).
•  May not concurrently access any territorial, provincial or federal funding program.
• Must hold a 60% or C+ or above grade average for their most recent semester and most recent academic transcripts (if available).
• Must write a 500-word essay limited to 1000-words (double spaced, 12pt font) describing how their choice of education and career objectives could help improve Kátł'odeeche First Nation in the future.
