About Land Claims
Katlodeeche First Nations has been reviewing several claims options to settle its outstanding claims issues. The options being considered involved Specific Claims Treaty Land Entitlement, Agricultural Benefits also Community Comprehensive Claims for Self-Government. After careful review and numerous meetings with the Department of Indian Affairs Katlodeeche First Nation chose to explore the Community Based Comprehensive Claims to address their Comprehensive Claims. Katlodeeche has two Comprehensive Claims Options which are the Dehcho Process and the KFN Community Based Comprehensive Claims. The KFN Chief and Council chose the Community Based Comprehensive Claims due to the pressure KFN is under when other claimant groups are trying to settle their land claims within the Katlodeeche Traditional lands.
