Description
Fire Fighter- (2 positions available) Perform fire suppression and project work as part of a Fire Suppression crew during the fire season. Perform other duties including the use and maintenance of power pumps, handtools, chainsaws and other related tools.
Qualifications
- Must be a Certified fire fighter with the S-100 Certification
- Must have a Valid First Aid, TDG, WHMIS and Chainsaw Certificates, other safety certificates (H2S, ATV) will be an asset
- Must be physically fit, a medical certificate will be required from the successful candidate
- Candidates must pass the Firefighter Work Capacity Test. Call for details. You have until June 11th to prepare yourself, there is no exceptions. You must pass this test in order to work as a firefighter.
- Consideration will be given to candidates who have a good working history and are dependable: references will be checked.
- Driver's license will be an asset
Terms of employment: Seasonal permanent position, start and finish date posted each year, three months probationary period

Youth Activity Worker- The Katlodeeche Youth Program is seeking a reliable, dependable activity youth worker. The activity worker will report to the Youth/CJC Coordinator. The activity worker will assist in planning, coordinating and implementing life skills, personal development, culture & traditional knowledge and employment skills.
Qualifications
- Grade 10 or equivalent
- Ability to work with youth
- Basic computer skills, word processing
- Ability to write reports and assist with proposals
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to work without supervision
- Eligibility for Class 4 driver's license
- Provide a criminal record check

Prenatal Nutrition Worker- The Katlodeeche First Nation has a part-time Prenatal Nutrition Worker position available. Under the direction of the CEO Trainee, this position provides prenatal information & support to expectant mothers and mothers with infants up to one year. We are looking for someone who demonstrates a healthy lifestyle, is self-motivated, energetic and willing to learn. The position will provide training if required.
Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 10 or equivalent
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Basic Nutrition Training
- First Aid & CPR certificate
- Class 5 Driver's License Required

Resident Care Aide- The Judith Fabian Group Home has a casual/part-time position available. The JFGH is looking for people who are willing to work with persons with disabilities, to enhance their living by providing care and companionship in a home setting. Care aides duties consist of assisting residents to perform activities of daily living, cleaning and maintaining group home and also dispensing and keeping records of medication given.
Qualifications
- Healthy non-addictive lifestyle
- Ability to work with elderly & disabled people
- Long - Term Care Aid Certification
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Knowledge of the NWT food guild
- The ability to speak/understand the Dene Language is an asset.
